The Whale Festival takes place every year at the end of September and coincides with the transit of the humpback whales in the portion of sea belonging to the Marino Ballena National Park.

Numerous events accompany the Festival, including a show on the beach from the Boruca, the native Indians of the area, still living in the mountains.

The numerous locals tour operators offer boat tours to allow the sight of this majestic cetaceans and their puppies… and there aren’t only whales out there…
